ஷாபி விவகாரம் : சாட்சியம் இல்லையென நீதிமன்றத்திற்கு CID அறிவிப்பு

வைத்தியர் ஷாபி ஷிஹாப்தீன் மீது முன்வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள குற்றச்சாட்டுகளை நிரூபிக்க எந்தவித ஆதாரமுமில்லை என குற்றப்புலனாய்வு பிரிவினர் நீதிமன்றில் அறிவித்துள்ளனர்.

வைத்தியர் ஷாபி தொடர்பான வழக்கு இன்று விசாரணைக்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட போதே, குற்றப்புலனாய்வு திணைக்களத்தின் திட்டமிடப்பட்ட குற்றங்கள் தொடர்பான விசாரணைப் பிரிவின் பொறுப்பதிகாரி நிஷாந்த சில்வா நீதிமன்றத்தில் இதனை தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

4000 தாய்மார்களை சிசேரியன் சத்திர சிகிச்சையின் போது கருத்தடை செய்ததாக குருநாகல் போதனா வைத்தியசாலையின் வைத்தியர் ஷாபி ஷிஹாப்தீன் மீது குற்றச்சாட்டுக்கள் முன்வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன.

எனினும் வைத்தியர் மீதான குறித்த குற்றச்சாட்டுக்களை அவரது குடும்பத்தினர் முற்றாக நிராகரித்துள்ளனர்.

அதேவேளை வைத்தியர் ஷாபி மீதான குற்றச்சாட்டுக்கள் தொடர்பில் இதுவரை 750 இருக்கும் மேற்பட்ட தாய்மார்களிடம் குற்றப்புலனாய்வு பிரிவினர் விசாரணை மேற்கொண்டிருந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) informed court today that there was no evidence to prove the allegations made against Dr. Shafi Shihabdeen, the doctor attached to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.

OIC of the CID Gang Robberies Branch IP Nishantha Silva made the submission to court when the case was heard today.

The doctor had been accused of illegally sterilizing several women during operations he had conducted, preventing them from being able to give birth again.

However the family of the doctor has denied the allegations made against him.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has recorded statements from over 750 people with regards to allegations made against Dr. Seigu Siyabdeen Mohamed Saafi.
