Muslim civil society leaders have expressed appreciation to the Sri Lankan Government for facilitating what they described as one of the smoothest Hajj pilgrims in recent memory.
The acknowledgement came during a meeting held on 25 June with Minister Vijitha Herath and other officials, where around 40 Muslim civil society representatives participated.
The dialogue also highlighted key issues facing the community, including port clearance delays of Qurans, reopening of religious sites, Arabic school syllabus, and the affordability of future Hajj travel. Government officials assured participants that relevant ministries will take steps to address these matters and make next year’s pilgrimage accessible to more families. (CeylonMuslim)
